Professor Adrian Grant Biography
Professor Adrian Grant, Deputy Chair, HTA Clinical Trials Board
Professor Grant is Director of the Scottish Executive core funded Health Services Research Unit based within the University of Aberdeen, a post that he has held since 1994.
He graduated in medicine from the University of Oxford and followed this with postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynaecology, after which he studied medical demography and epidemiology. From 1980 to 1994 he was Epidemiologist and (later) Honorary Director of the Perinatal Trials Service at the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit in Oxford. His main research interests are the evaluation of health care, particularly non-drug technologies, such as surgery.
He was a member of the HTA Commissioning Board for six years, from 2000 to 2006 before joining the HTA Clinical Trials Board in 2006 as Deputy Chair.
