Progress reports

Progress reports are one of the most important ways we keep in touch with research teams so that we can provide support when it is needed.

Researchers are required to submit progress reports every six months. The report is read thoroughly and researchers are encouraged to create a ‘user friendly’ document, that provides all relevant and requested information, to enable us to:

  • review progress against a project plan
  • review the impact of any issues
  • identify any need for additional support

When your project starts you will be provided with scheduled dates for submitting progress reports. We are flexible about these dates. If a research team wishes to adjust a due date so it can include information about a key milestone this can be arranged. You will be sent a reminder about two weeks before your progress report is due.

Progress report templates are available to help you with completing user friendly progress reports. All teams are asked to use these templates. There are four templates, one for primary research projects, one for non-primary research projects and two for methodology research projects. Copies of these templates can be downloaded here. You can also request a hard copy from us.
