NIHR clinical trials units funding opportunities results
Clinical Trials Units fully or provisionally registered in the 2007 UKCRC registration process were eligible to apply for this initial funding phase. The first round of awards is complete and all applicants have been notified of the results.
Applications were reviewed by the NIHR CTU Infrastructure Assessment Group. Units were assessed on their track record, their planned use of infrastructure money and their ability to attract appropriate levels of HTA and EME research funding to off set against the funding award.
Applicants were asked to present a business case as to how they would use the funding, i.e through recruitment of key staff e.g. trial coordinators and statisticians, and improving training and IT.

The results below list the CTUs who will receive infrastructure funding in September this year:

4 clinical trials units were funded at £200,000

5 clinical trials units were funded at £150,000.
Centres will receive these awards annually for 3 years in the first instance.
