Changes to methodology research funding
The NIHR and the MRC have announced a new joint arrangement for methodology research. The Methodology Research Programme (MRP), managed by MRC and jointly funded by the NIHR and MRC will begin from 1 April 2008. The MRP will be the main NIHR/MRC funding mechanism for underpinning methodology research.
The MRP will fund both investigator-led and commissioned research, and in time oversee other targeted methodology work streams. The NIHR and MRC joint arrangement has been developed with OSCHR.
The December meeting of the current NIHR Methodology Panel was the last in its current form before the new programme is launched on the 1 April 2008. This web page will be superseded by new pages for the MRP through the MRC after this date, with further details of this available in the future. View outcomes from the December meeting.
