HTA adaptation toolkit now available in Turkish
News release from the National Coordinating Centre for Health Technology Assessment
28 July 2008
The team at NCCHTA leading on the development of the ‘HTA Adaptation Toolkit’ and accompanying glossary are delighted to hear that the Adaptation Toolkit has been translated into Turkish by Dr Rabia Kahveci, President of the Turkish Evidence Based Medicine Association. The toolkit and glossary have been put together as part of a wider project to establish a European Network for HTA (EUnetHTA).
The three year EUnetHTA project www.eunethta.net, due to come to an end in December 2008, involves HTA agencies, research institutions, and health ministries from across 24 European countries and is supported by the European Commission.
The toolkit and glossary have been produced to help HTA agencies in different countries adapt existing HTA reports so that they can be applied to their own setting. They are currently going through a second round of quality assurance testing and as part of this EUnetHTA partners are using these resources to adapt HTA reports written in other countries. The Turkish translation of the toolkit has been used at an Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) Symposium held in Turkey in March, for an introductory course on HTA.
The current versions of the toolkit and glossary, including the Turkish version, are available to view and download from www.hta.ac.uk/eunethta.
Dr Kahveci of the Turkish Ministry of Health visited the NCCHTA earlier in the year. If you would like to discuss the Turkish translation of the Adaptation Toolkit or developments in Turkish HTA, Dr Kahveci would be pleased to hear from you, email: drrabiakahveci@yahoo.com.
